House snagging

Are you purchasing a new house off plan, then you might ask - should I have a house snagging inspection?

On average a typical new build, 3 bedroom house, that we've inspected, would have had over 200 snags.

Therefore it is important that you check if the developer offers a credible one to two year warranty for snagging issues and is accountable to an independent quality control body such as the NHBC.

Our advice to a new home buyer is to check and read through the developer's customer feedback and reviews and in particular take note of any reoccurring issues raised through discussion and snagging blogs.

Also push for an independent house snagging survey in between exchange and completion so any issues raised during the inspection can be agreed to be rectified in a reasonable timescale at the expense of the developer.

New build development Milton Keynes.jpg

" We recently moved into our first new build home in Haywards Heath, and I wasn’t sure whether to have a snagging inspection or not, but I’m really glad we did. Property Snagging London Ltd were extremely professional, efficient and thorough - checking every inch of my house with detail and precision. I couldn’t believe it when the report came back with how many things I hadn’t spotted before having it inspected! We sent the report to the developers who then organised their team of workmen to come in to fix the issues.

I would recommend Colm and the property snagging team to friends and family who are moving into a new build for sure!
Thank you from Lauren and Damian. "

We were recently asked by our client to inspect a new property he was in the process of purchasing from David Wilson Homes in Hampshire. The property was of a good standard and decorative finish but we did log over a hundred snags and issues. The client had exchanged contracts and was due to complete at the end of the week.
